So last year I got this idea in my head to film a documentary at Wizard World Chicago (formerly called Chicago Comic Con, and now called Comic Con again this year), You see I had been trying my hardest, along with a few friends, to market, then publish and sell our own comics there for years in the Artist's Alley section at the convention. Let's just say that's been hard to accomplish with any large success. So I thought it might be a good idea to film and produce a documentary about artists and independent comic creators who market and try to sell their small time comics and art in the Artist's Alley. I hoped that this would at the same time help future Artist's Alley exhibitors get an idea of what to expect, and also provide some more exposure for the less frequented Artist's Alley section of the convention. (Artist's Alley attendance pales in comparison to the massive crowds who swarm the big time media areas on the other side of the room)
So yeah.. I did that.. I filmed a lot of footage, interviews, demos, party footage at the hotel etc... and now... FINALLY I have the first part of that documentary up on my youtube channel. You can find it here:
[link]The title of the documentary is "A Place for MY Stuff" which is a description of an Artist's Alley table in the eyes of it's exhibitors, and also an homage to the late great George Carlin. I'll be trying to get another episode or "Issue" up on youtube every couple of weeks, so keep an eye out for them.
Thanks
Caelyn

I would rather be attacked than unnoticed, for the worst thing you can do to an artist is to be silent as to his works.
